What is the dynamic between Loki and Thor in this movie?
Oh, that is a big question… So, the dynamic between Loki and Thor in this film is a continuation of the relationship they had in Thor its just more antagonistic. In Thor they were two brothers who started off in a very playfully competitive relationship they were.. they were ..it was that sort of old ..ya know, its a relationship that’s as old as time. An archetype of relationship between two bros ones older ones younger. They love each other but they jostle for space, and affection and pride, and they’re constantly competing and over the course of that film you saw Thor on a journey from arrogance to humility, a very personal sort of spiritual journey, and Loki essentially discovering that he wasn’t even related to Thor… umm, and in fact he wasn’t his blood brother. So in this film you have.. you have all of that personal history, but Loki has let go of any affection for Thor or need for him and he’s come down to.. to planet earth, to subjugate the entire human race and rule the earth as a tyrant and a king and Thor has come down to earth to stop him and bring him back, and to take him home and I think Thor is trying to appeal to a glimmer of redemption in ..in Loki and.. and.. and forgive him and bring him home and bring him back into the fold and Loki’s just kind of.. he’s lost the plot slightly.
